The Problem:

How do we address the dangerous and financially crushing issue of DCP Gas Operations employees struggling to resolve emergency plant events in a timely manner due to fragmented communications and lack of accountability?

The Solution:

Create a singular application that serves as the verified source of unplanned event status and communication across everyone at DCP, accessible from anywhere at anytime.

Key Components:

  • Cross-Functional Research – Interviewed department leaders and field workers to capture a variety of pain points and communication challenges during emergency events.

  • Collaborative Problem Framing – Led workshops with department leaders to identify, prioritize, and align on the primary problem statement and solution requirements.

  • User-Driven Design Sprint – Facilitated department leaders and field workers to craft user journeys, potential solutions, and initial prototypes, involving them directly in the solution process.

  • Service Blueprint Development – Created comprehensive service blueprints identifying the relationships between each user archetype throughout the emergency response journey.

  • Multi-Platform Strategy – Designed both desktop and mobile solutions to ensure access to critical information regardless of user location or device.
